In His Image: (Book Excerpt)

Introduction

The vast number of women now being called forth and released into ministry and leadership roles within the Church and in the world, can be taken as a very powerful sign of the lateness of the hour in which we live, as women have been created to play a significant part in the end-time work to prepare the way for the return of the Lord. God is now calling women forth “for such a time as this.”

The Church is discovering that in the spiritual as in the natural, the union of both the seed of woman and the seed of man is necessary to produce life! We are now approaching a time of great travail—a time of birthing the end-time purposes of God on earth. Men and women are now partnering in the travail to bring forth God’s purposes—this is a very beautiful thing in God’s eyes. It has taken thousands of years to arrive back at Genesis 1:26-28 to God’s original intention for man and woman before the fall.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:26-28

After thousands of years of imprisonment to demonic mind-sets, introduced after the fall, it has been only within the last century that a true and lasting freedom has begun to enter into the lives of women on a large scale, and this, mostly in first world nations. In the early 1900’s, in Canada and in the USA, a measure of authority was restored to women for the first time since Eve, when women were given the right to vote.
Having been caught in the snare of Satan, the spirits of rebellion and disobedience were released through Adam and Eve. Now however, by the grace and freedom found in Christ, God is raising up an army of men and women in this generation, who walk in radical obedience, and are dedicated and devoted seekers of the Truth.

Paul made it clear that in Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile, and neither male nor female. These two issues are in continual need of clarity, revelation and understanding as both the Jewish people and women have suffered greatly through thousands of years of satanic assault and lies.
My prayer is that this work will be an unveiling of the call on woman, showing the fullness that women are called to walk in, ‘in Christ.’ My hope is that eyes will be opened to see, that there will be an opening of the prison doors to the daughters of the Most High God to His original intention.

“God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28 NIV

God’s original intention before the fall was that Adam and Eve would rule the earth together as one. Women were created also to be leaders. Sometimes, because of mind-sets concerning an issue, people may not have had the ‘ears to hear’ the Holy Spirit’s clear and pure revelation of the Word of God in regard to this issue.

When God chose to open the doors of His House to Gentile people, He gave Peter a vision in which he saw all kinds of animals, creatures and birds; Peter then heard the Lord say, “Arise Peter, kill and eat” (Acts 10:13). Peter protested in deference to Scripture that forbade him to do this. It is sometimes quite difficult for God to shake us free from old mind-sets and ways of seeing things, in order to give us fresh vision and revelation for a new season in His timing of things.

In these days when God is very clearly putting His anointing on women in ministry and leadership, it is important to step back and re-examine the Scriptures and God’s intent and timing for women. It is necessary to examine these Scriptures under present Light and fresh Fire; Light that will expose erroneous translations due to prejudice, and Fire that will burn away the dross—the accumulation of carnal opinions clinging to God’s Word—leaving us with a pure Word of God for His daughters in this hour.

God stated in Psalm 110, “My people will volunteer freely in the day of battle.” This book is a call to war. It is also a call to women to volunteer in the army of God to fight for the advance of His Kingdom. This is a day when every able body is required to come forth and serve the Living God in whatever capacity He has ordained.

This is definitely not a time to hinder anyone who is willing to serve; there are billions to be reached with the Gospel and spiritual wars to be fought to release and gather in this Harvest. Hundreds of thousands of apostolic men and women must ‘go’ to preach the word and ‘disciple all nations.’ Millions of men and women must humble their hearts and open their ears to hear the Trumpet Call resounding across the earth as angels mobilize the army of God.

This book is a Call to the women of God! My hope is that it will dispel any arguments against women in ministry and leadership; that this manual will succeed in calling forth an army of women into the purpose for which they were created. I believe that this will be a study that awakens, warns, and inspires women—some who may be hiding behind the busyness of life, family, or fear, or in caves of despair.

This work does not seek in any way to exalt women above men, or to promote a wrong spirit of rebellion; rather its purpose is to encourage humility and submission, to promote a spirit of unity that releases life and truth! My hope is that in this study women will see the Light that is before them and understand that this Light is the doorway to their destiny. Women, don’t be afraid to take the step; “it is for freedom that Christ has set you free.”

“Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear; forget your people and your father’s house. The King is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for He is your Lord.” Psalm 45:10-11 NIV
